cold night on fenton

Last night I walked Fenton to get Downtown for dinner at Baja Fresh. The tempeature was well-below freezing, with an occassional stiff gust of wind.

The sidewalks were in bad shape, considering the mildness of the recent snowfall - or perhaps BECAUSE of the mildness. It sems like any snowfall below 5 inches doesn't get taken seriously. Even the relatively thin layer of snow will be there for days at these temps. Black ice can put a pedestrian on his ass, or worse yet - on the street. Many pedestrians walk in the streets during times like these to avoid ice.

But, the real issue going on along Fenton St. is the red light running. In the video, you will see four confirmed red light runners in just one walk. The bit with the yelling is a vehicle after a collision involving a red light runner at Fenton x Wayne. ( I missed it, of course, by seconds.)

What are already considered too-slippery... just add ice and the bricks along Fenton become downright treacherous.
