While the County is in the final stages of building the new Silver Spring Library, no one is giving any consideration to the great numbers of pedestrians that it's opening will bring to the sidewalks nearby. No thought as to how pedestrians will be able to safely access the facility. The sidewalks on approaches to the library are atrocious. The street that runs right by the library, Boifant Street, doesn't even have a sidewalk on the side closest to the new building. Intersections on Fenton are already dangerous. Imaginine hundreds more pedestrians daily...
What's the plan, Montgomery County? These problems aren't going to solve themselves, and waiting for the problem to manifest itself before taking action is foolish.
