These words have very little to do with the images below, but they popped into my mind while I was uploading them, so they must be some relevance.
It occurs to me that assimilation into Silver Spring society still involves car-ownership. Immigrants are not fully integrated into this culture until they are driving. It is a sure sign that you are on your way, that's for sure. As long as you walk, you are not "one of us." It says something about you - and it says a lot about the culture around here, too.
